Job Interview Tips for Lebanon: Prepare, Answer, Follow Up
How to prepare for a job interview in Lebanon, answer the most common questions with confidence, and follow up the right way afterwards.
Getting the interview means your CV worked. Now the employer wants to know three things: can you do the job, will you show up reliably, and will you fit with the team. Good preparation answers all three before they ask.
Before the interview
- Read the job post again and pick three requirements you clearly meet. Prepare one short example for each.
- Look the company up: what it sells, where its branches are, and who its customers are.
- Plan your route. Traffic and power cuts are part of life in Lebanon — leave early and charge your phone the night before.
- For online interviews, test your connection and camera, and pick a quiet, well-lit spot.
Questions you will almost certainly hear
"Tell me about yourself."
Answer in under a minute: what you do now, your most relevant experience, and why this job is the next step. Skip your life story.
"Why do you want to work here?"
Mention something specific about the company — a product, a location close to you, the type of customers — and connect it to what you are good at.
"What salary do you expect?"
Give a realistic range based on similar job posts and say whether you mean dollars or lira. Ask what benefits come with the role, such as transport, meals or insurance.
"When can you start?"
Be honest about your notice period. Employers prefer a clear date to a promise you cannot keep.
During the interview
- Arrive ten minutes early, dressed one step smarter than the daily dress code of the job.
- Answer in the language the interviewer uses. Switching between Arabic and English is normal, but stay clear and polite.
- Bring a printed copy of your CV and any certificates mentioned in it.
- Prepare one or two questions, for example "What does a typical day look like?" or "How will my performance be measured?"
After the interview
Send a short thank-you message the same day by email or WhatsApp if that is how the company contacted you. If you hear nothing after a week, one polite follow-up is fine. Meanwhile, keep applying — on Wazefli you can track every application status from your dashboard.
