Delete your Wazefli account and data
You can ask us to delete your Wazefli account and the personal data linked to it at any time — yourself in the app, or by email. This page explains both options, what we delete, what we may keep and why, and how you will be told when it is done.
Last updated: October 2026
Data linked to your account
Depending on how you use Wazefli, your account can hold:
- Account details: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), password (stored only as a secure hash), language, theme and notification preferences.
- Profile details: professional title, bio, skills, education, years of experience, location, gender, date of birth, work status, contact details and social links.
- Files you upload: your CV and profile picture.
- Activity: job applications you submitted, saved jobs, in-app notifications, browser push-notification subscriptions and active sign-in sessions.
- For employers: your company page (name, description, industry, size, location, website), job posts, the applications received for them, and your company registration request.
- Security and activity logs: which actions were taken on your account and when, with the IP address and browser/device information used.
Delete your account in the app
Job seekers and employers can delete their own account at any time:
- Sign in at wazefli.com.
- Open the menu on your name or picture at the top of the page and choose “Edit Profile”.
- Open the “Security” tab and scroll down to the “Danger zone”.
- Select “Delete account”, read the summary, enter your current password and tick the confirmation box.
- Select “Delete permanently”. You are signed out on all devices.
Forgot your password? Use “Forgot Password?” on the sign-in screen to reset it with a code sent to your phone, then follow the steps above.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in, or prefer that we handle it for you:
- Email [email protected] with the subject “Account deletion request”.
- Include the mobile number registered on your Wazefli account. If your account has an email address, please write from that address.
- To protect you from fraudulent requests, we confirm that you control the registered number before deleting anything — for example by asking you to send us a WhatsApp message from that number, or by calling it.
- Once verified, we delete your account using the same process as in-app deletion and reply to confirm.
Never send us your password or a verification code. Wazefli staff will never ask for them.
Email [email protected]What happens after you request deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Your account is deleted immediately: you are signed out everywhere, your login stops working, and your profile and applications are no longer visible to anyone.
- Your uploaded files and copies of your details in other records are then removed automatically in the background, normally within minutes.
- If a step fails temporarily (for example, if file storage is unreachable), it is retried automatically. If it still cannot be completed, the request is flagged for our team to finish manually.
- Email requests are processed once we have verified that the request comes from the account owner. We reply to your email to keep you informed.
What we delete
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login details, including your password hash and preferences.
- Your profile information, CV and profile picture (including earlier uploads).
- Job applications you submitted and your saved jobs. Employers can no longer see your applications on Wazefli.
- Your notifications, push-notification subscriptions, sign-in sessions and any pending phone verification codes.
- If you are the only owner of a company account: the company page, all of its job posts, the applications received for those jobs, and the company registration request. Job seekers who applied keep their own accounts.
- Notices about you in other users’ inboxes, such as an employer’s “new application” notification showing your name.
What we anonymize
Some records are needed to keep the platform secure. We keep them without the details that identify you:
- Security and activity log entries linked to your account are kept, but your name, phone number, email address, IP address, device details and submitted form data are removed from them.
- If your company account has other owners, the company page, its job posts and the applications it received stay available to them. Only your personal account and data are removed.
What we may keep, and why
After deletion, only the following may remain:
- A minimal deletion record — an internal account number (not your name, phone number or email), the date, how the request was made and verified, and its processing status — so we can show the request was handled and avoid processing it twice.
- Copies in database backups kept by our hosting provider, until those backups are replaced in their normal cycle.
- Information an employer already downloaded or copied outside Wazefli (for example, a CV saved to their own computer). This is outside our control.
- Messages already delivered to your phone or email, and delivery records kept by our messaging providers (such as WhatsApp, SMS and email providers) under their own policies.
- Information we are required to keep to comply with a legal obligation, if such an obligation applies.
Apart from the items above, your deleted data is not kept.
How you will know it is done
We confirm the deletion using the contact details that were on your account:
- If you deleted your account in the app, you see a confirmation on screen straight away.
- When processing is complete, a WhatsApp message is sent to your registered number if WhatsApp notifications were enabled on your account.
- When processing is complete, an email is sent to the address saved on your account, if you added one.
- For email requests, we also reply to your email.
